The Kitchen Garden Program at Deer Park North P.S. provides the opportunity for our students to work alongside our chef and horticulture team to learn about food production, gardening, permaculture and nutrition.
In each session students help to plan the menu, source and then cook the food. To complete each session the class will sit down, restaurant style to share the food they have prepared as a team. Through this program students are introduced to new food, a healthy approach to eating and the chance to build both vocabulary and mathematical understanding in an authentic context.
