At Deer Park North P.S., we teach components of the Victorian Curriculum through an inquiry framework. The framework provides a conceptual starting point for eliciting student voice (student interests, prior knowledge and questions) while incorporating subjects such as Geography, History, Design and Technologies, Economics and Health. Embedded in each inquiry is the opportunity for students to use both critical and creative thinking as well as develop an understanding of ethics, civics and citizenship and intercultural understandings. The student’s questions and wonderings are able to be explored through the following lenses:
